The Unhurried Mother

As a mother of two, I am deeply familiar with the pressures, the endless to-do lists, the mom guilt, and the identity confusion that can come with motherhood. Over time, I realized that what I was craving most was more slowness, groundedness, and mindfulness in my daily rhythm as a mother.

I created The Unhurried Mother for women who feel pulled in that same direction, as a way to gently document this season of life and the quiet moments within it.

This offering is about capturing the calm and the lightness that exists alongside the chaos. It’s about allowing space to slow down, to soften, and to see yourself embodying a more unhurried way of being.
I want my clients to be able to look back at their images and feel a sense of peace, especially during a time of life that can so often feel overwhelming and fast-moving.

The Unhurried Mother is for women who want to document the calmer, more joyful side of motherhood. We all have countless photos of our children, but many of us have very few images that show us, the way we want to be seen, within the wild, beautiful journey of mothering.

Our children’s childhood is also our motherhood. That, too, deserves to be honoured and held sacred.

This session is for you if:

  • You feel drawn to slowness, even if your life still feels full and busy.

  • You want photographs that feel calm, honest, and open to whatever the moment brings.

  • You don’t want to perform or pose motherhood.

  • You want to be present in the images, not just the one behind the camera.

This session may not be for you if:

  • You’re looking for a quick, highly structured shoot.

  • You prefer posed, traditional family portraits.

  • This concept is centered around motherhood. Partners are welcome to be present and to move naturally through the space, but the focus of the images will remain on the mother and her experience of this season. This is not a traditional family session, and we won’t be creating posed family portraits.

What The Unhurried Mother entails

  • Relaxed time spent together, either in your home or an outdoor space.

  • A gently paced session (approx. 1.5–2 hours).
This is not a rushed photoshoot. We are not shooting continuously for the entire time. Instead, we move slowly, allowing space for pauses, connection, and moments to unfold naturally (whether they’re calm, playful, or a little bit chaotic).

  • A curated gallery of 20–30 high-resolution, thoughtfully edited images
